Our History
The Jesus Prayer Warriors actually started with a phone call in 2022, even though, at the time, we didn't understand what God was doing. A Christian man in Texas received terrible news that his wife Cindy was diagnosed with Leukemia. This man then made a phone call to a friend in Tennessee to inform him of the diagnosis, which was heart-breaking news to hear. Both of these men believe very strongly in prayer and through faith, know that God moves mountains (Matthew 17: 20-21). This was a huge mountain in Cindy's life and only God could remove it. Both of these men started praying diligently, every day for Cindy, as she underwent chemotherapy treatment, and they often prayed together using video conferencing. After about eight months of prayer, Cindy's Leukemia was in remission. Both men, Cindy and their families were overjoyed with the news and were very thankful to God. Unfortunately, their joy was short-lived as the Leukemia came back and Cindy and her husband were informed that chemotherapy was no longer an option and the only thing that could save Cindy’s life (physical life on the earth) was a stem cell transplant. Each family member was tested and none of them were a match for Cindy. The United States database was continuously checked and unfortunately, no one was a match because the Leukemia in Cindy’s body required a very specific donor match.
At this time, the two Christian men realized it was time to ask other men of faith to join their prayers and without realizing it, God was creating the Jesus Prayer Warriors, ten men committed to praying diligently for Cindy. These men were living in five different states, but they were chosen because of their deep faith in God and belief in God answering prayer. They realized that only God could heal Cindy, but also believe that God rewards people of faith (Hebrews 11:1, James 5: 15-16). Therefore, the challenge for these men was to faithfully pray for Cindy. These men then started praying, via video conferencing every Monday and Thursday evening, understanding that Jesus was with them (Matthew 18: 19-20). They were also committed to praying for Cindy every day. Due to travel schedules they were praying throughout the United States and even while international business trips, while in airports, restaurants, walking in parking lots and hotel rooms. There were many mountains that God had to move, but none greater than finding a donor for Cindy. Through prayer one donor was found from a country in South America. Then, the prayers focused on this donor agreeing to give up her time and the stem cells Cindy so desperately needed. The doctors had to start Cindy on very heavy chemotherapy to kill all of her cells within her bones so that they donor cells would regenerate throughout her body. The timing of the stem cell donation and starting the chemotherapy had to be perfect. Therefore, the Jesus Prayer Warriors began praying together via video conferencing, every day for three weeks before the person donated their stems cells and for three weeks after the stem cell procedure. Through prayer the person in South America did donate the stem cells and they were flown to Texas. Immediately, Cindy started heavy chemotherapy, understanding that if her body didn’t accept the donor stem cells, she would no longer have an immune system to fight off infection and disease. Therefore, there was much to pray for so that Cindy would not get an infection or terrible mouth sores that arise due to this process, among other concerns. Thankfully, Cindy's body accepted the stems cells and she did not get an infection or the terrible mouth sores.
Cindy continues to do well and her body continues to heal. God does move mountains, and we are so thankful to Him. Then, it dawned on these men that God revealed to us how we can serve others, by praying for them in their time of need. Therefore, God officially started the Jesus Prayer Warriors. Our goal is to offer others an opportunity to submit prayer requests and to allow Christians to join prayer groups, hoping that one day we will have millions of Jesus Prayer Warriors praying for others. Each prayer group will meet at when they desire, at a time most convenient for them, using the Jesus Prayer Warrior video conferencing platform. Throughout this process though, we all realize that Cindy is the true Warrior and God can move the most intimidating mountains, if we pray and believe in HIs power (Mark 11:24).
